Mr Petros Charalampoudis

Breast Surgery

Mr Charalampoudis is a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon and Honorary Associate Professor at UCLH/UCL. He has been providing state-of-the-art one-stop breast services in the NHS for over 8 years.

He has extensive experience in managing all aspects of benign breast disease and breast cancer and has been involved in refining breast one-stop services at Guys’ Hospital, Lewisham Hospital, Whittington Health, UCLH and the private sector. He holds a PhD in Breast Disease and currently serves as Clinical Lead for Xyla Breast Services.

Mr Mark Gudgeon

General Surgery

Consultant Surgeon Mark Gudgeon was appointed as a consultant general surgeon with a special interest in colorectal surgery to Derbyshire Royal Infirmary in 1995, he moved to his current position in the same specialty at Frimley Park Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in June 1998.

A high percentage of his work involves coloproctology and he has specialist expertise in complex laparoscopic and robotic surgery for bowel cancer and inflammatory bowel disease.

Mr Tsong Kwong

Consultant Ophthalmologist

Mr Tsong Kwong is a Consultant Ophthalmologist with a special interest in oculoplastic surgery. A large proportion of his work involves the surgical management of cataracts, periocular cancer and lacrimal disease.

Dr Thomas Selvaraj

Consultant Anaesthetist

Dr Selvaraj has focused on Anaesthesia and Critical Care from the earliest stage, with broad, comprehensive and specialised training and experience of 24 years. He also gained experience in General and Emergency Medicine and has a strong commitment to education whilst consistently demonstrating reliable clinical expertise as a consultant with the ability to confidently manage a wide range of challenges, both in the elective and emergency setting.

Working in a busy anaesthetic unit as a substantive consultant in the NHS at the South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust, Warwick Hospital, means Dr Selvaraj has significant responsibilities and involvement in decision making and extensive experience in working effectively as part of a team, including supervising and advising colleagues, staff and trainees to facilitate the prompt and effective treatment of all patients. All this requires excellent communication and leadership skills. Dr Selvaraj has been well appreciated by the patients and the team for his efficient work. This has been reflected in appraisals, follow up records and patient satisfaction surveys.

Dr Piers Clifford

Consultant Cardiologist

Dr Clifford is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust Hammersmith Campus, where he is the research lead for NIHR portfolio clinical trials, and at Buckinghamshire Hospitals NHS Trust Wycombe where he was the Chairman of the Division of Medicine. At Wycombe Hospital he has developed highly successful angioplasty and investigative units which are unrivalled by other district Hospitals.

He is particularly interested in atrial fibrillation, the modern treatment of hypertension, syncope, chest pain, breathlessness and inherited cardiomyopathies. He performs over 350 coronary angioplasty procedures each year, as well as running busy NHS and private outpatient clinics.

After graduating with a First-Class Degree from Oxford University, he completed his medical training at St Mary’s Hospital, London. Having gained an MD in the genetics of ventricular hypertrophy he continues to have an active research interest in molecular cardiology and coronary intervention.

Dr Wendy Holden

Rheumatology

Miss Holden has been a Consultant Rheumatologist for 15 years, and for 4 years until November 2021 was working as Rheumatology Clinical Lead for North Hampshire Hospitals Foundation Trust where she still has an Honorary Consultant Contract.

She now works for the CQC as a Specialist Advisor involved in rheumatology, pain management and musculoskeletal services. She is also Medical Advisor to Arthritis Action, a charity specialising in self-management advice for people with arthritis.

Dr Amr Elsissi

Consultant Anaesthetist

Dr Elsissi started his career as an Anaesthetist and Intensive Care Physician in 1998 and has been working as a Consultant at University Hospitals Leicester since 2014, where he is the lead of adult congenital heart services in the department. Dr Elsissi covers the following Anaesthesia specialities: Cardiac, Thoracic, Orthopaedics, Urology, General Surgery, Breast Surgery, Gynaecology and ENT.

In addition. Dr Elsissi is an appraiser, apprising colleagues and helping them to comply with GMC revalidation requirements as well as his role as Education Supervisor for Foundation Doctors and Anaesthesia trainees.

Dr Abdul Ahmed

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Dr Ahmed is a Clinical lead for Oral and Maxillofacial surgery. He has spent 8 years in London Practising as a Consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery specialising in Reconstructive Surgery and Head and Neck cancer. Having worked in the NHS for 23 years he has a wealth of experience and expertise in his field. He has a strong interest in teaching and training. He is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at Queen Mary University of London. Educational supervisor for the London School of Surgery, and runs regular courses in Reconstructive Surgery, ATLS, and Microvascular surgical techniques.

Abdul is also a Clinical tutor at the Griffin Institute a charitable research facility for biomedical research and surgical training. He teaches on the renowned microsurgery course for surgeons at Northwick Park, which has trained microsurgeons for over 30 years. As a clinical researcher, he is involved in several clinical trials in oncology and regularly presents at international meetings.

Dr James Carrannante

Consultant Anaesthetist

Dr Carrannante has over 25 years’ experience working in the NHS and Private sector. He became a Consultant Anaesthetist in 2008.

Outside of work he enjoys road cycling and mountain biking and dog walks in Epping Forest.

Dr Elexie Iheanyi Opara

Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist

Dr Iheanyi Opara is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, North Middlesex University Hospital, London. Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, St George’s University medical school, Granada.

An Alumnus of: University of Nigeria, Nsukka; King’s College, London. PgC in Obs and Gynae USS; Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA. Certificate on Artificial Intelligence (AI).
