Tell us a bit about yourself and your professional background

I’ve worked in both regional and national sales roles for over 20yrs and had the pleasure of representing some fantastic brands in that time including Coca-Cola, Budweiser and Costa Coffee. I moved to medical sales just over 7 years ago to challenge myself in an exciting and rewarding sector.

I joined XEC in Feb this year after more than 6yrs with Menarini Diagnostics. In my last role, I experienced liaising with the NHS at a local Trust and CCG level, together with involvement in larger national tender opportunities. The Xyla role offered me a chance to build on these skills within a very dynamic and forward-thinking company.

What specific skills and experience do you bring to the role?

My role involves dealing with several supply partners and developing great working relationships with them. I’ve always had a strong belief that collaborative work can help companies achieve mutual growth.

What are your responsibilities?

My role is to develop and promote the XEC Community Services offering, basically all things away from an Acute setting. This involves working with our various supply partners across many exciting projects, such as Digital & Virtual Services and Community Diagnostic Centres.

What does a typical day look like in your role?

I’ll let you know when a typical day comes along…! Things are so fast-paced and fluid within the XEC / Acacium world that there’s never a dull day, let’s put it that way.

What’s the best thing about being in the XEC team?

Six months into the role, I am really pleased to be part of such a hard-working and dedicated team of people. There’s a real drive within the XEC team to help the NHS overcome the various challenges it faces, and it’s great to be a part of that.

What are your aims and ambitions for the remainder of 2022?

To support the NHS as it looks to tackle the growing elective care backlog and imminent winter pressures.

What does the next year hold for XEC? What are you excited about?

I’m excited to see how Xyla Digital and Virtual Services will develop in 2023. It’s such an exciting part of the market and will hugely benefit patients and the wider NHS.
